Tracking Contradiction, the long-awaited debut from POP TRASH, is
entirely a solo endeavor. The brainchild of singer-songwriter Kyle Lowden,
POP TRASH was an epiphany following a string of musical miscues.

With the group he previously fronted (the John Lennon-inspired INSTANT
KARMA) having disbanded the year before and disillusioned with recent
project FUZZY MATH Kyle found himself searching for his next musical
inspiration. That inspiration would come in the form of a production company.
Kyle was asked to compose songs for two different film soundtracks and with
no band or project to turn to, he began composing and recording those songs
at night alone with a small eight track recorder.

Out of those sessions, POP TRASH and Tracking Contradiction were born.

A fascinating and thoughtful record, the name refers to the purposeful diversity
from track to track. "I wanted something that was organic and cohesive," Kyle
said, "while also not being confined to a particular style or sound."

The album launches with the moody, synth-heavy instrumental "Storm in a
Bottle", one of the aforementioned soundtrack songs (written for the film
'Flight of an Angel'), while the following track (lead single "Dark Side of Your
Moon") showcases the more pop-oriented side of POP TRASH. Two other
standouts, the slow-burning ballad "Forever and a Day" as well as the grungy
groove of "Into My Mind", further illustrate the broad range of musical styles
that form this mindful collection.

"More than trying to craft something perfect, I was hoping this album could be
a snapshot of where I happen find myself right now: attempting to stretch my
creative boundaries."

Tracking Contradiction will be released August 6, 2002.
